Z-901 : Alloy and Sorting Analyzer

Alloy and Sorting Analyzer

Highest performance LIBS analyzers

Alloy Analysis

SciAps offers the only LIBS-based alloy analyzer operable in a “dual burn” analysis setup. Just choose your application.

Alloy: Argon-purge for high precision and improved detection limits. Many customers use argon-purge to analyze and sell mill-ready aluminum scrap. Quantify low ppm levels of beryllium and boron. QuickSort: Air-burn for rapid material sorting or grade identification.

The Z-901 for alloy analysis measures 15-20 elements in 7 common alloy bases, including aluminum, stainless, iron, copper, titanium, nickel and cobalt bases. Other bases may be added for a small fee, or users may add their own calibrations.

Need to measure lithium in alloys? Use Z-902, with extended range to 625 nm to measure Li emission.

Need to measure carbon in steels and stainless—including verifying L- and H-grade stainless? Use SciAps Z-902 C, in use globally for measuring carbon and other elements in steels, stainless and nickel alloys.

Already own handheld XRF—and only need to add carbon measurements? Use Z-901 CSi, the ultra-compact analyzer that measures C and Si in steels, stainless.

Mining, Exploration, and Environmental Applications

LIBS complements handheld XRF because it is especially good at measuring lights, low atomic number elements—including those too light for handheld XRF.

Lithium in ores and brines.
Light elements in soils and ores, full suite including Li, Be, B, C, F and Na.
Total organic carbon in agricultural applications.
Beryllium in soil or other materials as an environmental contaminant.

More Applications

Forensics, Quality Control, Research, Education

The Z-900 Series features our desktop/tablet ProfileBuilder software package to add elements, create calibrations and apply advanced spectral processing.

Develop test methods for unique analytical or quality control needs.
Academic tool for researchers and students alike. LIBS does not require X-ray radiation or its accompanying regulations.
For forensics, small spot analysis (100 um) and ProfileBuilder software yield a powerful, highly versatile field analytical technique.
