Like its predecessor the Z-50, it\u2019s the perfect alternative to the old competitors portable LIBS units. We\u2019ve worked closely with the users to provide the performance and operation our customers have come to expect, and after extensive side-by-side testing, we\u2019re pleased to introduced the lighter, more flexible Z-9.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Handheld LIBS, weighing about 3.5 lbs.<\/li>\n<li>Air-burn operation for six alloy bases: Al, Ti, stainless, Fe, Ni and Cu<\/li>\n<li>Optional \u201cAlloy Argon Purge\u201d App for higher precision if needed<\/li>\n<li>May be operated under Class 1 conditions, provided sample sensor is engaged (engaged by default, password protected)<\/li>\n<li>Internal camera and flatter nose-plate for easier testing on curved or irregular circles<\/li>\n<li>Easy and fast quartz window cleaning<\/li>\n<li>Macro-camera for photo-documenation of samples, bar codes and report generation<\/li>\n<li>1-second tests<\/li>\n<li>Expanded Ti and Al libraries compatible with our user expectations<\/li>\n<li>Detect down to 10 ppm Be contamination in aluminum and copper alloys<\/li>\n<li>With argon purge, measure down to 10 ppm B in aluminum alloys<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>For the metals industry, the Z-9 is an inexpensive but reliable alloy sorting device, mostly for aluminum, titanium alloys, and stainless. It will reliably ID high-temp alloys, but we do not recommend use for precise analysis of high temp alloys like nickel, cobalt, refractory alloys and super-alloys.
